In 2013, we adopted the Unified Development Ordinance (UDO) to establish standards for residential and commercial development. Since then, we've taken inventory of the policies and found some places where our UDO could be stronger, especially when it comes to commercial development on sloping sites or sites built on uneven land. This is where you come in!

Can you take a few minutes to review the policy guidelines that we would like to add or revise in the UDO? You can find all the information on our Hillside website.

Love it? Like it? Hate it? Confused by it? Let us know! All comments can be sent to Allison Evans at allison.evans@raleighnc.gov.

If you're interested in having a conversation with city staff about these recommendations, we would love to chat with you. We will be hosting a public work session Wednesday, May 8 from 5-7 p.m. in the Urban Design Center (located on the first floor of One Exchange Plaza).

We are taking reservations for this work session via email through Kristin Williams at kristin.williams@raleighnc.gov. Please RSVP by May 2.
